Prayer & Expectation

Who packs a suitcase without the hopes of travel? Who buys a baby crib when there is no conception? In this same manner who prays without expecting the heavens to move? Prayer is not cosmetic; it is not ritualistic and never should be seen as a labor for the gift of salvation. It is Power! It is refuge! It is life! It is victory and abounding joy for those who render it!

Prayer should always be followed with great expectation, with faith that is induced by Hope! “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5). This great love that has been poured into our hearts is our assurance in the moments where it is typical to lose heart. The hope that provokes faith reminds us of His love and this undoes the cords of fear that wearies expectation. Be renewed! Be vigilant! It’s coming!

What you have declared according to His will shall come to pass! Do not weary because it tarries. Keep warring in prayer! There is a battle in the heavens and the manifestation of your hope will be brought forth in faith!

The 120 servants of the Most High, “soon to be trail blazing, pioneers, church planting, gospel preaching, paradigm shifting, tongue talking, demon chasing, city transforming, harvest gatherers” waited with an eager expectation for the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1). On Pentecost there was a wind. A strong wind that introduced to the world the power that the saints would be dressed in, the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11)! It was the snow ball that caused an avalanche that shook the foundation of darkness and empowered believers throughout Church history! To this very day the power poured out at Pentecost is available to those who call on His name (Luke 11:13).

What is your expectation? If you bought a suitcase, plan a vacation! If you are praying for your baby, buy a crib! God is about to do what your eyes have not seen nor your ears have heard. Brace yourself for the Glory! Don’t be shocked when it happens, say “I expected it!”

Psalm 40:1-5 “I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth-- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.”
